The Story

”Don´t tell us that the sky is the limit - when there are footprints on the moon.”

First Gal Collection is a celebration of the women behind the space travels - and also the women who made it out there. Some of shades are named after the iconic women who have explored the unknown, reflecting their fearless journey.

Katherine Johnson: African American mathematician who calculated and analyzed the flight paths of many spacecrafts with the U.S. space program. Her work helped send astronauts to the Moon.

Valentina Tereshkova: Russian Cosmonaut and space engineer, and the first woman to go to space.

Mae Jemison - American engineer, physician, and the first black woman to travel into space

Jessica Meir - Swedish/American Astronaut who is planned to be the first woman on the moon. Launch is set to 2024. Also did the first all female space walk.

Laika: The dog who became the first living creature sent into space. We want to honor her but also highlight that she made a sacrifice that no animal should ever have to make.

Sally Ride: As the first American woman in space in 1983, Sally Ride not only made history but also championed science education, especially for young girls.

Ellen Ochoa: Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman in space. A brilliant inventor and engineer, she holds three patents and has been recognized with NASA's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Medal.

Eileen Collins: Eileen Collins, the first female Space Shuttle commander in 1999, is a pioneering figure in NASA with a legacy of four space flights and significant contributions to women in aerospace.

Janet Kavandi: Janet Kavandi, with over 33 days in space across three missions, now leads at NASA's Glenn Research Center, driving key advancements in space technology.
